    Default Landing Light Beams

    Hello Fellow Flight Simmers,
I am in need of some help. I guess I'm having a "Senior Moment".
I seem to have lost the landing and taxi light beam in FS9. Not only the third party aircraft no longer cast a light beam on the ground, but the default aircraft do not also. I noticed it as I was testing a new aircraft. At night with the landing switch on, yuo can see the lights on the wings, but no beam on the ground. At first I thought it was the aircraft itself, but when I switch to the default Baron, the same results were noticed. Does anyone have any Idea what's going on? I examined the display settings in FS9 and found no discrepencies.

    Thanks,

    John B. Loney, Jr.

Thanks to all who tried to help with the landing light beam problem. I got an answer from a fellow flight simmer over at avsim's forum. It turned out the be the spotlight.bmp file in the FS9 texture folder. I had been testing some lights for EZ Scenery and used a new spotlight.bmp file. Going back to the old one corrected everything.

    Keep the blue skies blue.

    Take care and be well.

A list of the original textures and what they do would be nice to have. I recently down loaded some new ground textures and I'm not sure I like em. As usual I didn't back up the originals, "Dumb Ass", so I can't go backwards. I would like to know how to get the files from the Original FS9 CD's, but the proceedure of extracting CAB files always seemed to Arcane to me. I'd like to thank John Loney at this time for KOPF Opalocka. You single handedly brought life to my home Airport and made me realize I need a new computer to get over my 5 FPS. Landing and taxiing here is quite a test of my limited abilities.

there is an excel file that lists all of fs9s components and on which disks they can be found. i don't have its name sine i am at work, but perhaps someone else can supply it.

as far as cab files are concerned it's very easy.

create a directory on your hard drive and give it a name. go to the fs9 cds and copy the cab file in which you are interested to your to your new hard drive folder. then, click on the cab file and it will automatically expand, breaking out into the various folders which make up fs9. then's its just a matter of copying what you want to replace or restore to your main fs9 directory...

    hope this is a help.
