Default Alphasim SR71 Flight technique hints

I'm wondering if anyone who has bought this wonderful aircraft has developed any special techniques for handling this tricky beast. I have scanned the User manuals, and the developers even recommend purchasing the actual flight manual, however, now that I'm a pensioner, I have to watch the pennies. It has extremely stringent handling characteristics, and is unforgiving to say the least. In particular, I would like to know about recommended approach and landing methods. Any suggestions welcome.
    Regards.

OK, on reading further into the manuals I found some more detailed info which will do for the the moment. I guess the secret to this aircraft is practice!practice!!

    HEllo Ron,

My freind used to crew in one. A Major Colonel 'Blair Bozek' of the USAF based at the time at R.A.F. Mildenhall in Suffolk. He was reconnaisanse oficer (back seat) to 'Dan House' his pilot and appeared in several documenteries.

What do you need to know about flying the balckbird Ron? Is it the slowing down you need to know about?

That is done as per flying Concorde by altering the A.O.A (Angle of attack).

You need to study 'V' speeds for ease of flying.

Quite the interesting story about those two crewing the SR-71

    http://www.ejectionsite.com/srcrash.htm

Very interesting to note many crews within the 71 family remained together for much of their time flying the Blackbird.

I have the entire POH for the Blackbird, obtained from

    http://www.sr-71.org/blackbird/manual/

I spent the money to have it printed and sent to my home, very interesting to read the procedures involved with flying the fastest aircraft around!

Thanks for the replies. Yes the AOA is critical on this aircraft, and it needs a lot of planning to get the right COG and weight when landing. Have you guys tried it in FSX? You can see the blue-black of space and the curvature of the earth at 80000 feet. What a gas guzzler LOL. Need to practice these landings some more.
