Hi-
Is there a way to incrementally change the view angle when in spot plane view?
The default views are at 45 degree angles to the plane's axis; can I incrementally change to say 40 degrees? 35 degrees? etc.?
Thanx for the help.

The Hat button on my Joystick allows me to move to any location around, above and below in spotplane view. Also the plus -minus keys allow in and out for distance away from the aircraft. Hope this helps!

You can zoom in and out (called 'increase' and 'decrease selection' for some reason in the key commands). You can also adjust the distance the camera is from the plane. You can do that in the options at top but you can also do it on the fly with the mouse wheel with this utility below;

It will also allow the mouse to pan around in the VC or around in spot view.

As soon as you say 'Spot View' and 'Zoom' (with '-' and '+') together in the same sentence, you need this tip: If you are going to fly in Spot View, you NEED to set Zoom to 1X. Any other setting will give you distortion. This is done via 'View\View Options' menu. You also set distance from AC there. For C-172 it's around 77 ft away, 5 ft up.
I can't start to tell you just how many times I've had to do that, as I do tweaks to cfg, then go re-load AC, and that re-sets everything. Just reload of a saved flight won't 'work' either,so... Hope this helps.

Sometimes (especially for screenshots) a bit of wide angle lens appearance is cool though :-D
I usually like to zoom out more and then have the camera cloer to the plane a bit. This makes the ground textures and mesh detail appear more detailed as you are pulled back from them. Moving the camera towards the plane makes it bigger on the screen. I find if you are zoomed in too close with the camera location pulled away from the plane more, the ground textures and mesh can give the impression of being less detailed and more blurry since you are zoomed into them more.
