I was only just flying through Hells Canyon and had just pulled out when I saw a De Havilland Comet fly overhead at about 16000' so having never seen one flying in computer generated traffic before I decided to follow it to see where it was going. So I stuck it into slew mode and followed it to airport Q99 where I saw it land at runway 32 (the computer pilot bounced it once before settling onto the runway).
Now here is the fun part. I turned on time accelaration to see if it would takeoff again but managed to crash the program. So I restart and put in the date and time when the comet landed and select airport Q99 and there he is sitting on the apron. So I put it forward a few minutes and then he is not there so I wait and sure enough in he comes to land again. So I exit FS, turn off the computer, turn it back on, run FS and enter the same time and date and airport and there he is again.
Which makes me wonder. If anyone else out there running FS2004 Century of flight sets the same date and time and airport as I did will they also see a red de havilland comet land? Why not try it and tell me what you see. Here are my settings:
Weather : none (might affect the flight time if he is flying into a headwind)
Time : 12:20:00 PM (he lands at exactly 12:26:21 PM but if you enter that time in he will already be parked.)
Date : 24 Dec 2006 (merry christmas for tomorrow)
Airport : Q99 (He approaches from the east heading towards the airport before turning south and then heading back north to land on Runway 32 so make sure you are not on it)
you can tune your radio into Q99 traffic and hear him as he announces his downwind, base and final legs.
