"Extra files" in Save Flight

A saved flight generate three files- One with an airplane icon, and two others with extensions of "WX" and "FMC".
My experimentation has shown that these flights can be retrieved and are functional even if the WX and FMC files are deleted.
There must be a reason for their creation!

Anyone???

I think the "WX" is the weather data, not sure what "FMC" is... anyone else know?

I've never seen an FMC file, they must be created by a third party app.

If you miss typed (or miss read) the 'fmc' and it it's actually 'frc' then they are 'Flight Recorder' files. If you have Flight Recorder (v 121?) by Matthias Neusinger, then your 'saved' replays are the reason that (frc) file exists.

A 'delete' of one file (strange name, or not) will not do anything to fix any 'problem' you are having. Not a good practice. MOVE it to a folder you create, to 'isolate' it, just in case you need it later.

The 'wx' file IS FS9 weather that it saves with a 'saved' flight, and will be used/paired with the EXACT same NAME of saved flight itself (the file ending in 'FLT'). Hope this helps sort THAT out.
