Thread: Midwest Express Callsign?

    Default Midwest Express Callsign?

I've got a couple questions for you ATC pros out there.

What is the ATC callsign for Midwest Express? Wikipedia says it's "Mid Ex" but when I enter that into aircraft.cfg it doesn't work. I'm also unable to get "Federal Express" or "LOT (Polish Airlines)" or "Eva Air" to work. :(

These are not particularly exotic airlines. I have editvoicepack, but before I started tinkering with them that way, I wanted to see if anyone knew what I was missing, as you guys have helped me before.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Midwest Airlines is MIDEX

    Federal Express is FEDEX

Both are in Editvoicepack and should work if they have been added and airlines.cfg updated with EVP

    Dont see EVA or LOT

    Hey John,

Thanks for the info. I noticed a problem with editvoicepack this morning when I tried to install it. It told me I needed the ".net framework version 1.1.4322" which I had to download. I clicked on the link which showed me this:

I don't know how that screenshot came out, sorry. But at any rate, the program it tells me I need does not appear on this link. Still, I downloaded the 2.0 version, which I assumed would be backward compatible, and yet it still tells me I have to install this program.

    Any ideas?

    Net 2.0 is different from 1.1 :(

    Go here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/S...displaylang=en
    and look for Net 1.1

The .NET Framework is part of Windows and the recommended way to install it is hence though Windows Updates (or Microsoft Updates if that is what you are running). Both version 1.1 and 2.0 is available, and it will ensure you get the right version for your processor.

Thanks for the help. It worked like a charm.

My only problem now is figuring out how to CREATE callsigns for airlines who don't appear to have one in the database.

According to my list, the only callsign that doesn't already exist is the one for LOT. That callsign is POLLOT (mentioned in an earlier post) and is available with EditVoicePack.

You can get POLLOT by running EVP and selecting the "Update Voicepack" option that will download the complete modified voicepack. You don't need to create it on your own. Be patient, the download takes some time.

The other callsigns are already available: MID EX, FED EX and EVA. Be sure to include the space between MID EX and FED EX.

One last thing that you probably already know. The callsign goes with "atc_airline", e.g., "atc_airline=MID EX".

Read the tutorial on http://www.editvoicepack.com if you need to create a callsign. Check the callsign first - they might simply be using something you do not expect.
