Thread: FS9 help (Display)

  1. Default FS9 help (Display)

    Hey guys,
I'm having a bit of a problem that has been with me for awhile now. A few months ago, I noticed that while in the 2D panel, there was a gap between the panel and the background. I tried resizing my monitor, didn't work, reset to default settings too. (19" CRT) - I tried to reset all my display settings and still nothing. I can resize the background to make it so the panel fits, but its annoying to do this everytime. Not to mention, when I pan left/right/up/down, I can't resize the background to fit and I can see the landscap going by, etc. Very annoying, I've included a picture below of what I see.

Hope you guys can help with this, Thanks!

    Hi Chase,
You may be able to open the bitmap for the main panel and add a little bit to the image to make it just that much wider. I have nt tried it in FS9 but I can't see why it wouldn't work. Make a backup of the main bitmap first.
Now you might need to add a color that is not black/ As far as I know, black will be transparent, and you would see thru the panel wherever black was. This is why some panel bitmaps had black in the window area. Upon seing it in FS, it would becone transparent, and act like a window to see thru.

Anyway, see if you can ad just a little to the edge. Remember to make a backup of the original main panel bitmap.

One other way that I may need a little help with, is reassigning your view or eyepoint of the panel. Since you can manually move the panel to get rid of the line, all you need to do is change the setting in the panel.cfg file. (Someone help me, on this one, it's late and I can't remember.:) )

By the way, which plane is this we are looking at? Perhaps one of the default Cessnas?

    Gary.
