"HJG ANNOUNCES A MAJOR 4TH WEBSITE UPDATE"

Hot on the heels of its last update, the HJG team are proud to announce their 4th and this time "MAJOR" website update.

Featured among new releases this time around are another 20 new aircraft repaints .... some representing rare liveries for DC8 & B707 aircraft of lesser known operators from the USA, South America, Central America, Africa, Europe, Middle East, & the Caribbean.

The news only gets better too.

At long last a decent panel is now available for HJG B707 & B720 models.

    It's been a long time comming .... "BUT YES" .... it's true !

George CARTY has tailored not one but several different panel versions especially for the HJG B707 series. Each featuring variations in instrumention reflecting evolution of the aircraft or respective powerplant performances. Other features include authentic engine startup sequences with cockpit/ground support. A working INS system. An operating F/E panel with functional fuel, electrical, and presurisation systems. Dual Captain and F/O 2D main panel options complete with interior cockpit views. Significant FDE modifications have also been incorporated into HJG's B707 flightline (B707-120 thru -420 & B720 only so far) further improving aircraft performance. New "heavy smoke" effects have also been created which spectacularly replicate the classic sooty signiture of very early B707's. All these advances combine to improve not only the "feel" of these fine virtual aircraft, but, also make them "look great" too. Indeed the quality of this entire classic jetliner simulation has been greatly enhanced to all new levels of authenticity.

All is available now for "FREE" download from the following website address

    ENJOY !

One problem I am having with the 707 panel.

I get all kinds of strange sounds which are initiated by possibly access to ground communications, trim adjustments, or something unknown. The sounds continue until FS9 is shut down, restarted, and I go to other aircraft. To start with, everything is fine, but at some point in a flight possibly relative to the factors mentioned above, the continuous sound problems originate.

The DC-8 aircraft and panels from HJG have no sign of these problems.

May be system specific to me, but this has been my experience. Anyone else experienced these problems?

    Happy flying:

I tested all of these new B707 panels on more than 1 computer.

I have not encountered any such problem.

Nor has any similar problem been reported to date.

Important details concerning installion of George CARTY's new panels with HJG B707/720 aircraft models: The original FDE data (AIRCRAFT.CFG and AIR.FILE) downloaded with these aircraft must first be deleted and replaced with modified FDE data contained within each of the new aircraft Base Packs before these panels are run.

Failure to do this may result in problems running these panels.

    Thanks Mark:

My sound got corrupt for some reason both with FS9 running and without. Computer slowed down to a crawl as well. This happended immediately after installing the HJG DC-8's and 707's. First of all, I got strange noises when the 707 was selected. The DC-8 was ok. In the progression over the next couple of days, I lost sound all together and the computer slowed down drastically for all functions (which I realize probably had absolutely nothing to do with HJG). I removed the HJG birds (which didn't cure the problem) and ended up having to remove and reinsert my sound card to get everything working correctly again. (Audigy2 ZS)

I feel sure this probably has nothing to do with these fine contributions and was just me, but it did turn into something that smelled bad. I feel sure I observed your instructions in my original installation, but certainly am subject to a mistake. Now to be brave enough to reinstall these aircraft and take another crack at it.

Again, thanks for the kind reply and information.

"OH GOD" .... not the AUDIGY 2 ZS card !

Truely .... there's been a number of folk report problems with that particular sound card in FS9.

I first heard about this in relation to David MALTBY's fine models (which incidentally weren't causitive of any problem), but, this's the very first time I've heard of audio problems in connection with any HJG aircraft.

Moving to another soundcard (even a more basic, older, and inexpensive "SoundBlaster" type) "may" resolve your problem.

One detail I do recall in relation to the AUDIGY 2 ZS card is folk who experienced problems (mostly crashes and lock-ups) found if they moved their FS9 "SOUND QUALITY" slider (OPTIONS/SETTINGS/SOUND)back to "MEDIUM", it seemed to resolve their problems. Certainly you can do no harm trying this experiment.

I'm sufficiently confident to say the HJG aircraft, and CARTY panels are all "fine". I'm pretty sure your soundcard (and possibily other internal issues .... even drivers poossibly) may be the root of the problem.

    Ummmmm?????

    Strange????

I have had the card for several years and never had any sound problems at all in FS9 or anything else until I gave the 707 a try.
It has performed excellently and is doing so presently.

I was under the impression that these were the preferred cards as there were a host of posts recommending them, in fact more than any other I read about.

I guess I overlooked the troublesome references.

    Thanks for the information Mark.
