Is it possible to add AI Choppers?
I haven't seen any AI Flight Plans for helicopters for FS9.

There are some files in the library

Actual AI helicopters - no
Models which look like helicopters and taxi and takeoff and fly somewhat close - Yes
We have to fool FS into thinking the aircraft is a very slow, very high climb fixed wing bird.
You also need to create different virtual airports for the helicopters - and IFR final will lock all AI from landing or taking off for almost 25 minutes. The flightplans are of course short range compared to normal AI.

Not too sure what you mean by that Reggie.

Thanks.
That is very resourceful.
Mixing AI helicopters with fixed wing traffic can cause problems if there is more than a very minimal level of either type of traffic.
The approach speed for the motor glider flight dynamics used for most AI helicopters is 35 kts.
If a helicopter gets cleared for landing 10 nm out - that is 20 minutes for the approach and taxi off the runway. The runway will not be available for any takeoffs or landings during that 20 min period. That's why almost all my helicopter flight plans are VFR.
While some real world airports have helicopters land upon and take off from the regular runways - many do not.
So creating a separate AFCAD file for a helicopter runway and parking separate from the fixed wing traffic works out better than trying to mix the traffic at most airports.
Though I do have some airports which have both fixed and helicopter traffic - KGRK / KHLR as examples.
But I have two fake helicopter airports for my home KADS - one for the east and one for the west sides of the airport.
I now have military AI flying around. Thanks to all.
