    Default How to install the Falcon 50 CAEA to fs2004.

    I would like to find out how to install the Dassault Falcon 50 CAEA on to my fs2004, but all I can find out there is 2002 pro versions of it. Is it possible to get this plane to go to FS9? If it is throw me a rope so I can get this great plane by Yannick Lavigne, Fred Banting and Rob Young on to my system.

    The Falcon 50 was rightfully considered one of the best addons for FS2002, but to my best knowlege the special coding the authors used means that it doesn't work in FS2004.

    I believe the only place the FS2k4 version can be found is here: http://www.francevfr.com/index.htm

    Scroll down the page till you find the Falcon 50 Freeware 27/08/2005, it's a little less than a quarter of the way down the page now.

    Still one of my favorites along with the Gulfstream V and Eaglesoft Citation X.

    Frankly, I never had any problem getting the older version to work in FS9. There is however a link for the FS9 upgrade installation in another reply which supposedly works and looks a little better.

    Good luck:

    Yes, the FS2k2 will work in FS2k4 (there are a few problems on the overhead panel but no showstoppers). You will get a warning box the first time you load the lite and full version which you have to check yes to load the features otherwise the animations including gear won't show. If you have already checked these to exclude the features you have to go in and modify your FS9.cfg file to change full=0 to full=1 (lite same thing) to get it to work. I understand that the revised FS9 version doesn't match up with some of the earlier repaints available.

    If per chance you download the FS9 updated version as Zane suggested (which I would highly recommend and is your only choice now days), be advised that the text presentation will still sound like it is specifically for FS2002. The aircraft is updated for FS9 but the documentation is still pretty much the same but fully valid. IMHO this is one of the all time best freeware offerings for MSFS. I think it is superior to some payware.

    Happy flying:

    quick note to all wanting to fly the Falcon 50 -- if you are not a user of Active Camera (or F1_view) to move about the cabin.

    I find it useful to have a couple of different viewpoint locations coded into the aircraft.cfg file.

    By keeping the cfg open in notepad while I'm flying I can adjust which location I want to use and then reload the AC (I use CTRL+F11 hotkey as suggested by David Marshall) for a different virtual viewpoint.

    Falcon 50 viewpoint co-ordinates:
    {Views}
    //eyepoint=15.70,-1.45,2.4 // original view
    //eyepoint=22.70,-1.40,2.4 // pilot's seat
    //eyepoint=22.70, 1.40,2.4 // co-pilot's seat
    //eyepoint= 1.0, -1.40,2.4 // passenger lounge 1
    eyepoint= 5.0, 1.40,2.4 // passenger lounge 2

    This plane is too pretty not to enjoy from every angle!

    The Falcon 50 is great!
    One of many great 'freeware' even plane models out there. For those who think that there are not any great planes out there, try and design one that is better.
    Thanks to all the freeware authors out there, your work is always greatly appreciated. :)
