Default Captain Sim´s Hercules C-130. Problem with switches and buttons engaging.

Cpt. Sim´s Hercules. Buttons not switching. Desperate.

    Hi!

Just bought and downloaded the Captain Sim´s Hercules C-130. Great aircraft and great panels and all. I love to be able to fly this baby. But I have encountered some problems in the panels, problems which I haven´t found any answers on the Cpt. Sim forums. Seems like I´m the only one experiencing these problems. Therefore I think that the problems have something to do with my computer setup. So I´m crying for help here on Flightsim to get these problems solved. As there are not any people on the Cpt. sim forum who have the same probs as me, I´m beginning to think that maybe this problem is rooted in FS itself. Maybe some of you guys have had the same problem as me with the same plane or others.. Here´s what happens when I play the Captain Sim Hercules C-130:

First I noticed that not all of the autopilot´s switches where working. I pushed them but they didn´t light up, as they supposed to do, they just sounded "clicked". The autopilot on this plane has severeal buttons, but let´s focus on two of them. There is an ENGAGE button which of course engages the autpilot, and there is the POWER button which is kinda master switch for the autopilot. The autopilot has several button altough this is a very simple autopilot. Buttons like: Hold altitude, hold navigation (heading, VOR, nav etc.) Well....when I push the buttons on the autopilot they sound "click" but they don´t react. They don´t light up and they don´t go into action. But if I switch view with the S key four times and come back to the 2D cockpit the actions start, and the autopilot kick in. It´s as if the buttons need the "switch-view" to come into action. Then I tried to have the autopilot ENGAGED (which is the only button which works) and push the POWER buttin (which turns the AP off altogether). No warning beep....no warning that the autopilot is off, like it should be. Then I press S just once to switch into Virtual Cockpit mode, and the warning beep starts. It seems like the buttons come into action after I close down the 2D view. Then I found out that about 1/3 of the buttons on all panels work this way. I switch them and nothing happens, I hear a "click" sound but nothing happens. Then I push S (switch view) four times and return to the cockpit, and I can see that the switch has been switched. It seems like the switch needs a view change before it changes. Conclusion:

My Cpt. Sim Hercules C-130 has one third of all the buttons not working until I switch views and come back to the main 2D cockpit. And from the POWER button in autopilot I can see/hear that the buttons doesn´t action until I switch away from my 2D view.

I´ve tried to look for this problem in the Captain Sim forum, but have not found any. Then I thought that maybe some panel-designer or some wiz-kids here would know anything about why this happens.

I think it´s weird that the buttons pop into action when I shift views. Does anyone have any clue on why?

I have a standard FS2004 setup with FSUIPC (have tried uninstalling it, but no difference), FS Global, and some payware flight like: Flight one´s ATF, 727 and Cpt. Sim´s 707. They all work fine. Also downloaded some freeware night lighting improvement. But other than that a clean install.

Similar problem here which sounds like just what you are seeing.

I find that many gauges, in particular heading and course related items fail when I unlock any other panel. For example, unlocking the radio stack or throttle quadrant to be moved to a secondary monitor. The moment I unlock these panels, I get a number of switch and gauge failures. The RMI, compass switch, HSI no longer function. AP is fine, but I can no longer change the heading or course selection, nor do either the HSI or RMI indicate a turn. They are dead. I can cycle through the selection of another aircraft and back to the C130, and everything is fine again until I unlock a panel.

This just appeared this morning. I know I flew yesterday with secondary panels unlocked and moved to a secondary monitor with no problem. Everything worked fine and I am not aware that I am doing anything different now.

Did you ever find a solution?

    Thanks:

    Edit: The search goes on.

My attempt earlier was with the VC, Glass reflection, and 2d interior views turned off. I just turned all of them back on and got the gauges/switches to work.

On the primary panel, I found that when I unlocked a secondary window the gauges immediately failed while that window was still in the default location before it was moved. When I closed the secondary windows they kicked back in. When I moved them to the secondary monitor (unlocked of course) they also worked. I do see that when the mouse arrow is over a gauge that it still reacts strangely. I still don't know all the combinations, but it appears that it is related to one or more of these items when they are turned off. I will keep experimenting.

At the moment at least, I am seeing no problem at all by adjusting my video to 1600x1200 on both monitors. I was useing 1280x960. It surprises me that this could have such an effect, but so far it appears that it does. In the lower resolution, I found that I also lost gauges if I closed the yoke window. This does not happen at the moment with the higher resolution.

Good luck to anyone seeing these reactions.
