What do you mean? You mean how to change the manufacturer name etc?

No, when you start fs9 the default aircraft (on my system) is the Cessna C172SP. I want to use another aircraft (Archer II or maybe some other aircraft). Yes I know I can always select another aircraft to start but that takes extra steps.

Start the sim and select the aircraft you want, location
and engine status!! Save flight as default!!

This has been discussed many times before. It doesn't work. Or, at least it doesn't work for me and many others. Or are we talking about different things, here?
Apparently, it's a bug in the program and although there's a workaround I never did understand it and it's too complicated anyway.
I'm happy to be enlightened, though.

Edited as I saw this pursued in another thread...
Not quite sure what "edited" means. Does it mean you've closed the thread? Have you pointed us to the thread you say you've seen, so we can continue it if people want? I'm afraid a flat statement like this doesn't help us - well, me, at least.
Please be more specific about what you've done.
Many thanks,
Allan
Allan,
Saving a flight, and having it there the next time you start FS9 is A 2 STEP PROCESS. It's 'vague' and 'confuseing', but it's NOT a bug.
*Step (1). Go SAVE a flight. Done. If you quit FS9 now, you will NOT see this flight at start up. Why? Because you can only 'make default' a flight, that was PREVIOUSLY saved. Not one that you are just now trying to save (even if you ck the 'make default' box).
*Step (2): You go 'Select Flight' (ie: previously saved flight), look for the name (even if you just saved it 1 minute ago). THEN YOU CK 'MAKE DEFAULT' (work only for 'Step 2', and only if you are loading a PREVIOULY saved flight). Click 'OK', then quit FS9. NOW you will see that flight the next time you start FS9.
Summary: FS9 can NOT save a flight, AND make it DEFAULT at the same time. You save a flight. Then you go 'select it, then ck 'make default' and THEN it will show up. 2 easy but distinct steps.

Many thanks, Chuck.
I had it explained to me about a year ago, but the explanation wasn't as succinct as that. Should now be pretty easy to follow.
Again, many thanks.
Allan
Allan,
I'm glad that's over-phew! I thought I would have to come down and do brain surgery on you, or something like that. (Just kidding!)
Now if FSCom could just get a WORKING search engine, so people looking for 'flight save error' don't get sent to 'Arruba, Erotica, and Flight of the Bumblebees' post, or some garbage like that (haha). No way to run a store. This is the WORST search engine I have ever seen or tried to work with. It really sucks.
The moderators ask you to first do a search, before asking. Everyone is mortified to ask anything. You can spend 2 days looking, and you won't find 'it'. They just throw anything at you, and leave you stareing at the monitor, wondering if 2 yrs of college was a waste of time and money. By that time you give up. You read 100 posts, you fall asleep at your keyboard, bang you head on desk, and wish you were into ski boarding or something not as dangerous and more fun. (I am exagerating, of course). Ah, me. That's life, I guess.
