Is there a line item in the aircraft.cfg and/or airfile which will edit the maximum RPM gauge reading for an aircraft with constant speed props (or fixed for that matter) WITHOUT also having an effect on speed and power? Such editing has worked well for temperature and other gauge indications, but I have failed to find the right combination for RPM.
In some aircraft, RPM readings are low even though power and speed look pretty well on spec as near as one can tell by MP/throttle settings and a try at interprelating where pitch should be. This lacks reality as reducing RPM to specified climb or cruise settings is negated. The maximum RPM indications obtained are well below spec settings. Max throttle and minimum pitch at sea level results in an indication well below even the green line.
I have tried the max_rpm mechanical_efficiency_scaler and max_rpm friction_scaler in the config file. I can raise the RPM indication alright, but it also proportionally increases power and speed as well which negates reality. I also tried the RPM_Max in the airfile, but that seems to have no noticable effect.
Any ideas?
Thanks:
