Default Problem with the Airport menu

    Hi all,

Within the last week or so I have started to experience a problem with the World/Airport menu that I have never seen mentioned before. The first time I go into the World/Airport menu, whatever airport is first selected has all the available locations to place the aircraft. (Active Runway, selected runways, and parking locations if available) As soon as I scroll down in the list to the airport I want, all the available locations are gone except for Active Runway. If I select the airport I want, with Active Runway, it always throws me somewhere it picks at random. I tried to pick an airport in Alaska, and it sends me to the middle of nowhere in Africa.

I tried to uninstall FSNavigator as it was about the same time that I installed it that this problem started but it still has the same problem. I have not installed anything just before this problem started. I have installed scenery before this problem started but the airport menu wasn't effected for quite a while after they were installed.

Is there some sort of Airport list that might of become corrupt that I can reinstall from the original CD's or is there some other way to fix this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated in advance.

I've had this happen too. I think it's a bug of FS9. The only way to fix it is by restarting FS9.

Has anybody had this problem since installing the special software from Microsoft for the study?

Yeah, the first time I have seen it was after installing the MS software... It goes away, but it is a little weird.

I never had the latest software from Microsoft installed, but I did uninstall the addon scenery I had (never flew in the area anyhow) and all seems to be well now.

If I interpret you correctly, you haven't installed the 9.1 update. I think you'd be wise to do so. MS does NOT issue an update to anything without a VERY good reason.

I have a minor problem with the Airport selection menu - if the airport name begins with Abb, it won't auto-scroll past the entery that begins with "A/P". Any other combination is fine. The only reason I noticed it is because my home airport is Abbotsford (CYXX). But, I don't worry about it. The easy work-around is to enter the ICAO code.
