Thread: Add-on scenery

  1. Default Add-on scenery

I have taken a look at many of the screen shots in this forum as well as other forums, and I like the add-on scenery that I am seeing in the screen shots. What I was wondering is if I choose an add-on scenery, will it conflict with changes that have been made in FS? For example, if I choose to add FlyTampa's KMIA scenery, would that conflict with the active ILS utility that currently allows aircraft to takeoff and land on multiple runways? Would I have to remove the afcad files in order to have the scenery work correctly?

    Hi!

Using FLYTampa KMIA as an example...once you load the scenery, it should come with a default afcad from FLYTampa. Make sure you delete any existing add-on afcad, start up afcad, open the new KMIA and save it as your new KMIA. There are available afcad files in the files library for FLYTampa KMIA that allow all runways to be open using the starts system. I use it, it works great!!!! I hope I didn't confuse matters here.
I guess what I was trying to say is - for any add-on scenery, use the appropriate matching afcad file (assuming there is one), but delete any pre-exsisting add-on afcads first. Leaving the default FS9 entry (stock) when you open up afcad doesn't hurt anything.

    Thanks for the info.

I seem to recall that the active ILS that I am using for KMIA had an option for use with FlyTampa scenery. If not, I'll just search the file library here.
