Thread: when you try to

    Default when you try to

install a 2002 aircraft in 2004 and you get the message saying its incompatable do you want to disable those features which seem to be the landing gear and flaps. How can you make those planes compatible?

    You can't. Don't bother trying.

Actually you can fix those things.

Head on over to the location of your fs9.cfg file...somewhere similar to this below
    C:\Documents and Settings\Bryan Wallis\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9

Open up the FS9.cfg file with notepad and scroll down to a section like this, about half way down the cfg file..example listed below.

If you answered "yes" to disable then the aircraft.cfg model file name will be listed similar to below except that the plane name will = "0" and not "1". Replace the "0" with a "1" and save you FS9.cfg file and the flaps and wheels will work no problem, the only thing that won't be fixed in the case of prop. aircraft is the propeller - which will not be present. The propeller is hardwired into the model file I believe and its just not easily fixable.

NOTE: upon loading up a fs2002 plane for the first time and you get the "uncompatable message" then "say no" do not disable and this will place a "1" against the plane aircraft.cfg name in your fs9.cfg automatically and you don't have to go through all this hassle.

I have tons of fs2002 planes still in my fs2004 that work just fine, except as I mention, no viable propeller on prop. jobs.
