Thread: Help with a repaint?

  1. Default Help with a repaint?

I'm painting a Harvard. I am looking for the exhaust .bmp, and the canopy .bmp so I can repaint them, and wheel wells. They aren't located in the texture folders, so can anyone tell me where they are? Where does one also find the lights and the plastic covering on the lights, and the tail wheel? .bmp's that is. Also, I want to turn the black exhaust into a chrome pipe. If I use the gradient feature in my Jasc PS8, which is really good, would it look chrome in the sim, is it that simple? Or are some entries changed in the .cfg file? Like when you guys do that amazing factory fresh chrome?
Thanks guys for your help. Now I'm really hooked! I thought spending so much time flying, was enough time in front of this glowbox(monitor), now I'm in real trouble... :0)

I don't know the situation with this particular airplane, but sometimes the designer paints a part(s) with the construction of the model. In this case there are no .bmps (textures) that go with the part. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it short of getting the designer to change the design and make a texture for the part in question.

Another possibility is that the features you are looking for are part of another BMP file. Not all parts have their own BMPs - often smaller details can be found within the texture files for the fuselage, or as part of a texture file with other small details.
