Graphics Problems

Hey,

I installed FS2004 today and I am experiencing a few problems.

The first is painfully low frame rates... around 5 fps. That is with all the sliders at the very minimum.

I am running a laptop, but my processor is 2.4 GHz and I have 512 MB of Ram. I also have a 32MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON- so my system way more than meets the basic requirements.

The second problem is illustrated in the picture below. This aircraft is taking off from McCarren, LAS. For some reason, all of the ground markings have lines extending from them across the terrain.

Put together, these two points make the game pretty much unusable. Any input would be appreciated.

Hi Andrew,

Do you have all the latest drivers for you Radeon? I also suggest that you get the latest direct X version from the Microsoft website (9.0c).

Your graphic problems are definitely related to your vid-card.

As for the FPS, make sure you don't have to many programs running in the background. I also found that defragging the HD can do miracles. But don't forget that the clouds are the real FPS bashers and the performance is always "weaker" in heavy weather...
