Any program that replaces all trees, like mesh add ons??

Example fs global 2005 would this replace default textures and replace all the trees. Since my ati 9800 card does not have or alias alpha channels i get alot of shimmers so i decided to just change or buy new scenery i hope this works other wise i would have spent alot of money for nothing.
I just got Ultimate Terrain but this just adds stuff doesn't remove any default ms stuff.

I would not know about others, but FS Global2005 does not replace any textures; it's mesh only.

I have an ATI 9800Pro 128MB and a occasional shimmer. I use the ATI 4.11 release driver set, which is the fastest set for FS2004 sofar (by my testing on my machine). ATI control panel settings for 3D are: AA=6x, 1600x1200(I use 1152x864 at 85MHz for FS),AF=16X, quality, high quality,quality, application dependant, always off. In FS2004 all sliders are 80% or maxed except "Water Effects" at low. Clouds at 80mi, 40mi,80%, detailed and max. Under the [Hardware] tab: NO AA, tri,and Mip Map quality at 4!.This pretty important, because the shimmering starts at a setting of 5 and is building up from 6 on. I have fps locked at 20 (to avoid stuttering as much as possible) and get that nearly all the time.

I tried everything you suggested and still get shimmers can you tell me what the rest of your system is?
The occasional shimmer you get is it on trees and distant terrain?

Correct! Bare trees shimmer the most; not the distant terrain.
As soon as the AC moves the shimmering becomes less.

There are a couple of treesets around, mine are not the default ones, I think. I use two texture sets (for Europe and Northern America); file sizes are 683Kb, dates are 06-12-2003 and 17-03-2004(ddmmyyyy).

PC is a P4 550 3.4GHz, 1.5Gb of DDR400 dual channel.

Hi Bruno i am using default trees and they are the winter ones so hey are bare. Isn't it when the ac moves they shimmer more, cause when i park nothing moves/shimmers i have a perfect 3D world.
