Default A simple little frame rate tip.

Over the last few weeks, I've been messing around with my PC trying to get Squawkbox 3 to work. I've adjusted basically every setting I could think of with no success, and then put all settings back to where they were, or so I thought. Over the last week, I've been getting framerates in the 8 - 14 range and was getting very frustrated. Then I finally remembered I had bumped my monitor refresh rate up to 75 Hertz. I changed it back to 70 Hertz, and am now getting 20-25 FPS flying complex add-on aircraft again! WOOHOO!!

So if you've exhausted every other avenue in search of better frame rates, see if it's your refresh rate.

Ah! Hope springs eternal. But I'm afraid that ain't my problem. My refresh rate is only 60. x( x(

HMMMM I thought higher refresh rates would give you higher framerates....
I'm going to check this out. Thanks for sharing

You must've changed something else in the process... because changing the rate at which your monitor refreshes is completely independent of how quickly "your system" can render and its fillrate. Check your vertical sync, but I highly doubt it's your monitor refresh rate.

Glad to hear the frames are coming along!

Well, I don't know what to tell you. The only change I have made over the last few days was changing the refresh rate back to 70 Hertz. And my FPS increased. I can't explain it, but I guarantee I haven't changed anything else in a week.
