    Default Seeing the sights....

I am using FS2004 with the basic game scenery. Does anyone know of any scenic areas to visit as in mountains, islands, etc to fly to and around? I had found Niagra Falls to be cool to check out. If there is anything else like that, please let me know.

Hi Roy, and welcome to the forums.
There are many, many interesting Easter eggs in FS to find -- Mt. Rushmore; the Taj Mahal in Agra, India; the Queen Mary ocean liner in Long Beach, Ca.; Toronto's CN Tower; London's Millenium ferris wheel; fireworks in Las Vegas; the Roman Coliseum. The best way to find them is to just start exploring.
Even better is to download some of the free sceneries available here in the flightsim library, which expands the FS world immensely.
As for mountains and islands, I don't think you can do better than the U.S. Pacific Northwest, British Columbia and Alaska. Jump into a floatplane and go!

Welcome to the Flight Sim community. This is one of the best places to find out info and sharing of knowledge. I visit everyday if possible.

Check out Las Vegas. There's lots of "eye candy" there for sure. Hawaii has a few sights too. Washington DC, New York, Paris, London, Rome, San Francisco, the Pyramids in Egypt, to name some of the better ones.

An amazing real world flight (B737) is OPRN-OPSD. You can fly OPRN- BALAL INT (041* 162nm)-OPSD (143* 16nm). Here are a few hints: be at 17,000msl 7 nm before BALAL at 150kts. Start your right turn hdg 130* and descend.
Departing OPSD runway 14: left turn hdg 085*, max climb to 15,500msl, turn on course.
Departing runway 32: maintain runway hdg, max climb, left to 305*, max climb.

Welcome to Flightsim.com and the FS community. Try a flight into Oshkosh, Wisconsin. MS has modeled Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH) with a ton of parked GA, campers, display tents, etc. to bring to mind the EAA Airventure festivities that occur there in late summer every year.

I like flying a helicopter in and around the lava canyons on the "head" of Maui in Hawaii. Also the default scenery has Mt. Kilauea erupting on the south east side of the big island.

Another interesting spot is Old Faithful at Yellowstone National Park. Get into slew mode, cockpit view, full screen. Set your aircraft's coordinates to:
    N44* 27.49
    W110* 49.47
    Alt: 7441
    Heading: 130

Sit back and enjoy the show. It erupts every few minutes.

In the Select a Flight menu, you'll find lots of interesting places to fly around. They have default flights for exploring Mt. Rushmore, Giza pyramids, etc. The tour of Hawaii is also a nice series of flights.
