Is it possible to use the mouse wheel to control the throttle? I thought that would be easy to do but I can't figure out how.

Certain aircraft allow the mousewheel on the throttle (the default C-182, for example) but it's coded into the throttle "gage". You can create your own throttle lever "gauge" with xml and some bitmaps, or you can find one that works like you want it to and "install" it on your panel by editing the acft's panel.cfg.
If your aircraft already uses xml gauges, you can edit the throttle gauge with Notepad to allow wheel operation. Near as i know there's no way to globally "turn on" mousewheel operation of the throttle within the sim's settings.

Jim: I did know I could put the mouse pointer on the throttle and use the mouse wheel to move it back and forth, but I want to be able to use the mouse wheel to control the throttle no matter where the pointer is pointing.
I'm using ActiveCamera. I have my left hand on the joystick and want to be able to swivel my head around the virtual cockpit and control the throttle without taking my hand off the mouse (especially in the pattern). If I can't use the mouse wheel maybe someone has another suggestion on how to control the throttle without taking my hand off the mouse.
I see. I don't know if you can do such a thing without defining a "click spot" within the xml somehow. You may try control assignments, maybe you can simply assign the mousewheel to the throttle somehow, but I don't believe the mouse is an option there, only joystick and keyboard I think.
Good luck, hope you get it figured out,
Jim
