Default F-22 Won't work

I wanted to get a maneuverable fighter so I tried the F-22. There was only one available on flightsim, its file name is f22_005.zip So I downloaded this file. No matter what I do, I can't get the plane to appear in the list of planes. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I'm no expert on installing add-on planes, but I have succeeded in installing a few before. As far as I can tell, I have done the same with this F-22 as I did with the others, but it won't show up. Could someone tell me how to install this aircraft?
P.S. I tried getting the textures after the plane failed to show up, the file name is WA_F-22.ZIP and I installed them, but it didn't do anything, not that I was expecting it to.

1) Can you see the folder containing the F-22 under the FS9\Aircraft folder? What do you see next level down? In the program's aircraft list, have you looked under both "Lockheed" and "Lockheed Martin," or any other new manufacturer??

2) Try another maneuverable fighter while waiting. :)

I suggest F-14 by Dino Cattaneo, F-15 by Coral FLT (Japan), F-16 by Kirk Olsson, F-18 by Team FS KBT (Japan), T-33 by Tim Conrad, MiG-19 by Yan Tao, Hawker Hunter by Dave Garwood, BAe Harrier by Adam Preece, Tornado and Eurofighter Typhoon by DSB, CT-114 Tutor by VCDG (unarmed jet trainer), Jet Provost by Rick Piper (same) etc. etc.

Ok I have no clue why but the F-22 only appears if the lockheed martin manufacturer is selected. If I set manufacturer to any, it doesn't show it for some reason. But that I can live with.

What is very annoying is that my textures don't work. I installed textures and I thought all I had to do was copy the textures folder from the .zip file (not the original aircraft, a different file) to the aircraft folder. I named the new folder texture.1 but I can't select the texture when I load the plane.

I just discovered Kirk Olsson's Excellent F-16 Viper - wOw :)

[Link:www.flightsim.com/cgi/kdl/main/68/usviper.zip?xvdWk01V|Link to Flightsim Download] or search for filename usviper.zip in the libraries

Add better than default Lear45 sounds with [Link:www.flightsim.com/cgi/kdl/main/53/f16snz.zip?xvdWk01V|Link to FS download f16snz.zip] or search for filename f16snz.zip

Did you follow instructions about installing new textures? The vast majority of files containing alternative textures for aircraft remind you that after placing the required folder, you also need to open up the aircraft.cfg file in your preferred text editor, then copy-paste a new set of data in the appropriate spot.

I just checked my own FS2004 folder and remembered that I have the very same base Raptor and also the same additional textures installed. I'll paste the relevant parts of the aircraft.cfg file here, although note that I've temporarily replaced square brackets with round parentheses because of the way this forum board handles HTML code.

P.S. I strongly advise paying careful attention to the differences between the two sections (otherwise, as you may be experiencing, extra paint schemes may not show), and note also that you can't change the names of files within aircraft or texture folders (or even the folders themselves) without suffering consequences. :)
