Ultimate Traffic/My Traffic/Traffic 2004 etc - Framerates question

Hi,

Ok, I know this forum does get a lot of questions on Ultimate Traffic and the other add ons. However, my specific question really relates to framerates, and a search yielded no results, so I do apologise if this is repetative but...

Of all the major traffic add ons (Ultimate Traffic, FS Traffic, My Traffic, Traffic 2004 etc), which is best for those with LOWER spec computers? I know that Ultimate is more realistic, My Traffic has military etc. But for me the main consideration is really which will be least likely to slow my fps down? Anyone out there have a clue? I know this is a tough one to answer as most people will only have experience with one!

I have FSTraffic and ProjectAI installed, and I THINK that FSTraffic is a bigger hit on frames. I may be slammed for this comment, but it's just my experience. Have not seen the other 2 though.

Having had both installed at one time on a lower end system (AMD 2200 @ 1.8 GHZ), My Traffic had less effect on frame rates. UT does offer realistic schedules with the heavies. Bur offers no GA traffic. My Traffic textures aren't up to par with UT's, which probably helped with smoothness on a slower system. There are freeware addons that offer much as well. As far as simple, self-installing programs go, My Traffic was a good purchase. And many say the latest version is much better than previous.

Well it uses the default GA planes, what else is there? I have UT running on my laptop Dell505 1.4M (2.3 Ghz equiv)centrino 512 ddrram, cheap video card, and I can run about 60% traffic at Minneapolis or say detroit with 10FPS...

I have been trying out Airnav and it has civilian, Military and commercial flights.. All are real time flights... With my slider set too 60% AI, I am getting 25-27 FPS.. Of course I have FS locked at 27.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is Airnav. Tell me more such as free/pay and where do you get it. Also, is it frame rate friendly on low and middle end machines?

Yeah it is, I apologize about the name... FS Live Traffic from Airnav, I must be losing it... That is the biggest shortfall of this title, the real world flights are pretty cool and I am pretty sure it will continue working past the 6 months license.. You just won't be able to update the flights anymore..

I lock my frames at 27 and I average 25-27 in Anchorage, and about 21-23 around Simflyers Las Vegas addon...
