Thread: Carenado Dakota Power Settings Table

  1. Default Carenado Dakota Power Settings Table

    Gooday all,
It would be great if Carenado would supply the power settings table they mention in their checklist, with the purchase. Alas they are'nt prepared to provide me any info on same. I have found one reviewer (on a uk site) who was succesful in obtaining such table and have attempted to contact him. Meanwhile, I wonder whether anyone here has the table ?
    Many thanks.
PS.Can't wait to try L. Betti's Dakota ! Does anyone have any news ?

Yup, work has begun on the DF Dakota, but it will really progress once we have the Beech A36 completed. :-)

As to the power settings table for the Dakota, please, do not waste your time!

24" / 2400 and that's that. As the MAP drops off with altitude, you can reduce RPM to 2300. Of course, I'm not interested in fuel economy / endurance, I want my 140 knots, and that's that.

We have the table on the ship's sun visor, and after squinting at it on several flights, I determined the above works just fine for an average of 75% power. Besides, try setting 23.4, or 23.2" of MAP on the gauge in the real plane. :-eek

Over 30 years of flying the 235/236 I hardly ever looked at those tables, unless I was concerned about endurance, which was very rare. Always burned a consistent amount of fuel (figure 13 GPH), and got long life out of the engine (always a few hundred hours past TBO). :-)

    Thanks Lou Betti,
I take your point. I do find the C. Dakota a little 'touchy' at high rmp cruise though. 2200 rmp 23" MP +/-125 kts works for me.
    I look forward to DF's A36 & your Dakota.

    We're getting there, David!

I wanted to be beta a month ago, and we're not there yet, all because of some issues with the gauge protection code.

When you have a product with $60 worth of payware avionics in the panel, that you are selling for less than half that price, you have to protect those gauges.

That's where the problem is! ;-)

However, good progress is being made in other areas, like the VC. :-)
