Hi,
Would be grateful if anyone can recommend the best stick to be used with MSFS 2K4 and WinXP Pro SP2. At present my Microsoft Forcefeedback Sidewinder (Model 1)behaves quite erratically.
Thanks in advance.

I use both the CH yoke and the Saitek X45,
I find both are Excellent products for the money you pay for them
the X45 is GREAT for bigger/faster planes where you don't really have much time on aproach to be looking arround the cockpit with your mouse trying to push the right buttons. the X45 can be programmed to do just about anything. including Thrust reversers and all camera views. its a very nice stick and throtle
the CH yoke is Great for props, its realistic and pretty acurate.
hope this helps a bit

Ditto on the X45. That's what I use. The best stick I have used to date. (And I have an attic full of them dating back to MSFS 5.0)

Thank you Luc and Michael. I shall certainly check out the Saitek. Incidently, I use the CH USB Yoke and Pedals extensively.
However, from the time a month or so ago when I shifted using them on my new Athlon64 machine (with WinXP Pro as the OS), the pedals keep on getting disconnected at random. Unplugging and plugging them again gets them functioning again.
Any help or suggetions would be appreceated. They worked OK with my old PIII and Win ME.
CH Products has not been of much help, blaming the VIA chipset on the ASUS A8VDeluxe MOBO. But then why do I have the yoke working perfectly?
Thanks again and regards,
Aarmin
33 bucks you can't get a better stick, built to last forever.

I use the $21 version, a great stick. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Saite...oductDetail.do
I still use my Microsoft Precision Pro from FS2000. Works fine, never ever had a problem with it.

Does it work well with FS2004? My MS stick's forcefeedback behaves erratically in both FS2002 and FS2004.
It worked fine in FS2000.

I used to have a microsoft sidewinder but it broke and I always had problems with it.
I then went ahead and bought the microsoft force feedback joystick and didn't really like it.
Went back to Walmart and got myself a Cyver Grpahite joystick from Saitek. It was just $19 and it works perfectly. I've had it for more than a year now.
Personally I use a Saitek Cyborg Evo I love it not any problems. I had a lot with my Sidewidner so I didn't like that. If you do get a FF stick check out FS Force I think it was a worthy add on for a FF stick. Fortuantly they have a demo so you can make sure it will do what you want.
Otherwise if you have the money spring for those new sexy Siatek HOTAS sticks. Better then the X45 I personally prefer the twist handle rudder to the old tilt rudder control on the old X45 Throttle.
No, it is not Force Feedback, it is precision pro, optical something or other.
