    Hi everybody,
I know this question was asked already many times but I still wonder if there is a new Afcad coming soon or not. Some body knows?

Nope. But when there is, you'll know. I'm sure it will be posted everywhere.

    Thnaks Jonahbird for the link

Now i have downloaded the packages as well as the installer. All went Ok but when I went to O'hara in Chicago (and some others too) there was not a single plane at the airport. What went wrong.
I have downloaded also some AI aircraft packages and installed them with the same installer for AFCAD.
    Any ideas?

After installing the .bgl files when you started FS9 did you get the reindexing message with the progress bar? If not, then you need to go to the scenery settings and add the folder where they were installed as folder-name/scenery/af2xxx.bgl. Then restart FS9 and see if you get the reindex message.

In any case, if you did not remove the default traffic, with the Traffic slider set at 100% you should see default aircraft there unless you removed the default aircraft and traffic36something.bgl default traffic file.

I suspect your setting for Traffic. Also it takes a while for the traffic to build up.

Open FS then goto Settings\Traffic. I beleve the default is 15%. Move the slider to 80% then open at O'Hare (seems to be your favourite). Slew your Cessna (or whatever) to some grass alongside the end of the active runway and wait. After a time traffic should start to build up. Slew back to the ramps and traffic should be parked and the taxiways will be busy.

I always remove statics (recognisable by their lack of shadows, and the poor graphics in many cases) so that all the other traffic is active.

    Hi jonahbird

Thanks for the reply. I will try it when I get home. By the way how do you remove the static aircraft as mentioned above?

and Ronzie I do get the reindexing message with the progress bar.

    Hi Stelios

Being a Brit, my favourite A/P is London City, with Heathrow and Gatwick close behind. My favourite scenery writer is Gary Summons who is well on to completing England and Wales airfields.

His files are called, for example, egllaircraft.bgl or egsastat.bgl. Any file with the suffix ....aircraft.bgl or ....stat.bgl contains his static aircraft. Simple deletion or fuzzing the file nam ,viz lgb instead of bgl, is all that is needed to get rid of his static aircraft. They are contained in Drive:\FS9\uk2000 scenery\uk2000 partx\scenery

I think it is more difficult with MS created airfields, as I believe that relevant data is part of Traffic.bgl - but that may be quite wrong. I wonder - are there any static aircraft in default scenery?

If Mr. Swordy is keeping up with this topic, I'd like to inject something I'd like to see in a future release. That would be 2 and 4 lane road segments (with curved sections) to enhance the periphery of an airport environment. With the vehicles being offered in rwy12 releases, it would make it a little more "As Real As It Gets".
