    Just! Right!! ;)

The thing is I can't find a way of installing water textures. I know they should go to scenery->world->textures and sometimes something to textures, but the problem is I see no change!
I even deleted the bitmaps from their folder, started FS9 and guess what? No change-sea is still blue. How can it be?
'Water' slider is at max and 'land' at half and effects at max.
    Please, anyone any idea?
Cause otherwise I'll have to reinstall...

    Hi Fruitfly,
Maybe people are a little confused:

"The thing is I can't find a way of installing water textures."

What kind of textures are you trying to install? Default? Add-on textures?
Maybe a little more info will generate some response for you.

    Sure, thanx!

You see, the thing is I can install any water texture I want and it won't make a difference. That is, one doesn't see any difference!
It's not that I don't know how or where to install them. It's simply this: I can even open scenery-world-texture folder, choose water textures, delete all the water bmps and after I check the result, there'll be no change - as if I have done nothing.

I'm stuck with some textures I simply can't get rid of(I'm not sure but probably the default ones- anyway, it's not theese ones on the picture, I just put it as an example).
If I try to delete them, or to install some other textures over them, there'll sill be no result.

And to be fully understood - I do get the dialog screen asking me if I want one version to be overwritten by another, and I say yes, and they do get extracted and overwrite the old textures, but still.............
    How can it be!?

It's not that I can't see the subtle difference between them; I have tryed again with the first version of Bill Lyon's water textures (fs9wat.zip):
Even if I try to install THIS texture, I see no difference from the defaul ones!

You see - I like this water texture. You can say a lot of things about it, but you can not say it's subtle. ONE HAS TO NOTICE IT WHEN INSTALLING THIS ONE!!!!
    NOT ME!!!
And that goes for ALL the textures I've tryed. And there were quite a few - Peter Wilding's several versions, oceanfx & stx, new waves3, Bill Lyon's 2nd version...
And whatever I install, nothing changes, I always have the same textures.
    Any ideas what to try!?!?!?!?

    Hi!
It's half past six in the morning and I couldn't do better when it comes to the prompt answering. - sorry for the delay, but... ;)
    Anyway...
The graphic card is ATI 9500(nonpro),I softmoded it to 9700 and overclocked to 360/424 which is excellent compared to its original settings (an improvement of some 70-80%).
But I wouldn't jump to the conclusion saying "now, that's it"!
    It's not! :
I can see the 'pulsation' of the waves, therefore, the DX9c works!
And so far, there's been no problem;I could see all the water effects.
Than, I know for positive they use no soap in production of the graphic cards (;) )so, there's nothing that woukd wear off ao quickly as the estemated longivity of a transistor is some 100 000 working hours which is approximately more than thirty years!!!
No, really, the graphic card works.
But something didmake the difference. And I can't figure it out what could it be!???
