FS9 Error Messages

Hi guys!!i'm stumped!! I've just wiped my hard drive & reinstalled all the software including FS9.Everything works fine except when i try to load an ERJ with bill Grabowski's panel. i keep getting an error message "FS cannot load this softftware"! It then lists the offending item which turns out to be ERJ.GAU.i've used this gauge before i reinstalled FS9 with no problems,i even downloaded it from another source in case that gauge was corrupted,but still no joy!!any ideas.looking forward to your responses.

Does the ERJ.GAU require additional files, i.e., fssound.dll so it works correctly. Also you may need to add an &l;OLDMODULES&r; section in your FS9.CFG file:

&l;OLDMODULES&r;
fssound.dll=1
\gauges\erj.gau=1

well Mr Sieffert, i had the old modules section in the FS9 cfg already,but i added your other suggested entries ,but alas i'm still getting the error messages!!Thanks for the suggestion!!!

I had that problem awhile back, with a PSS.gau. I narrowed the problem down to three files in the main fs9 directory...sorry I can't remember which ones. Maybe if you reinstalled again.

thanks KJ,guess i'll have to bite the bullet and reinstall!!BTW a guy on the fsnordic.net forum reckons the same thing happened to him,after he installed the XP service pack 2!!FS and the addons defy all logic sometimes!!!

I'm having the same problem with the erj.gau file. Because I was having some weird problems completly unrelated to this, I had just uninstalled and reinstalled. It was on this fresh install that I copied the files from the package that Charles Fox put together. (very nice package to install I might add) I just had two flights in an ERJ-145 and liked the plane so much that I wanted to download that plane for my sim use.

I also searched for another copy of that file and it also fails. It's supposed to be the latest and greatest version (4.02)

i had modified the FS9 cfg,but i did not put the fssound dll into the modules folder!!!!
everything works fine now!!

OK, I'm a newbie, what's fssound.dll? I looked in my sound folder and there's no such driver. There's a SOUND.DLL in the Modules folder. What am I missing, please.
