Thread: Time to take this relationship to a new level

[font color=blue size=2]Okay, it's not what you think
I sure have met some nice and helpful people in these forums. So, I was thinking it might be cool for all of us to get together for online flying.

My personal suggestion would be to do a monthly or bi-monthly flight on VATSIM. I'm sure if we got even a little more than a few together they would be sure to staff at least TWR, APP and CTR's for the entire flight.

I know some of you don't do the whole VATSIM thing (still can't understand why), so if not VATSIM then some other network.

If you're interested then just reply here or send me a message.

A lot of people are turned off by VATSIM's learning curve and numerous required applications. FPI looks to be a nice alternative with ease of operation but I think they need more users. If you want to organize a fly-in from this site, that might be the way to gain popular support. I'd certainly like to try it out.

I don't even know of one requirement to fly on VATSIM. I just signed up, got my password and went flying.
And the learning curve, anyone who has taken the time to learn FS shouldn't have a problem. That's all part of this game, learning new skills to enhance the experience.

How about you sclincoln? Do you VATSIM?

You might want to post your request on our "Multi-player" forum here: http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/dcforum...conf=DCConfID1

By applications, I meant programs. I remember giving it a try about two years ago. I had to read about 6 different websites and download something like 5 different programs. Once I finally got going, I found that there weren't any controllers in the area I was flying. I kinda gave up after that and decided to wait until the integrated software was released (still pending). From comments I've read on here, there are quite a few others like myself.

The main thing I liked about FPI when I saw it was that it already has integrated software. I think that would help convince a lot of us who don't use the VATSIM network to give it a try if there were enough people online. But if you're organizing a large fly-in of some kind then there certainly should be enough people there.

I don't fly on VATSIM either.... It's not VATSIM, but all my flights are in/around Poland, so living in a differrent time zone (+6/7) dosen't exactly help much.... I could wait 4 years for that, but I'd be using RWATC (Real World ATC) by then....

It is interesting to see how quickly we fly away from the subject.

Yes, regardless of ATC network, I like your idea of meeting and flying together. Perfection would be to physically meet and see each other while talking about fligt sims, but an on-line fly in is the next best thing. Count me in.
