If you've got XP, why not try a System Restore to a point before the patch installation, then cold reboot. Might do some good.

    Well,
    I've finally "uninstalled" the update.
After I first installed it, I had a FS2004 crash.
Then it ran fine for a few sessions.

I saw that it did correct a few bridges but not all of the autogen bridge issues because some piles of bridges were still present that were located on apoint of scenery.
I didn't really notice anything fanstacic in framerate improvements.

This morning when Loading FS9.1, I got a message that it was rebuilding the scenery.dat file. (Not scenery.cfg) and it locked up at 9%.

Reboot did not help same message rebuilding the file at the 9%.
Tried uninstalling the patch and it locked up. Now I had no uninstall.
The patch would not reinstall because it was already installed and the sim had on on-HDD uninstall anymore.

I saved my necessary adds to a fresh location and did a FS2004 CD disk uninstall successfully.
Actually, a good thing because this gave me the chance to re-install to a location where I hadmore space on the partition.
The patch isn't going back because it made my FS unstable for no great gain in performance. My FS has not been that unstable since FS98 on Windows 98 with a bad hard drive.

Updating the scenery today would happen with or without 9.1 installed thats done because of daylight savings time changing today. Mine took a while and did seem to hang at 9% but then it did finally move on and finish. Dont seem to have any problems. This update happens twice a year in FS04 the same as it did in FS02.

So, that's what was going on. I wasn't sure why FS was doing it's scenery thing this morning as I haven't loaded any new stuff lately.

Ditto - since I'd made no scenery changes. Nice to know why - thanks.

    Default Problems with fs9.1

    I'm not a happy man.
Installed the FS2004 update & now I'm buggered.

fs9 was extremely well-behaved last week, and now look what I've got:
    1) ILS landings wiped out (no rectangles, no nothing)
    2) On landing, the scenery zooms up so high, I run off the runway.
    3) After about 6 aircraft changes, the Sim seems to run out of steam,
& either won't load the panel, or loads the one from the previous
    aircraft.
    4) After successfully obliterating "glideslope, too low etc." from my
normal landings, they're all back, rising from the dead!
    5) Several aircraft no longer function: eg. the TAP A320.
    6) Constantly getting warnings to adjust the heading indicator & the
    barometer.

I've combed the forums on the web, & I cannot see any solutions.
I guess I will have to uninstall. Any help?

    Cheers.

    Keith.
