I would guess that it simply has to do with the orientation of the runway on the page and the tradtional view that east is right (hence rwy 9) and west is left (hence rwy 27).
LOL! Well I have to admit that I never really noticed that.

Sometimes the answer really is that simple!
You'd be surprised how many people have told me it's wrong though because they read it as runway 6 and runway 27 :-)
