Thread: Screen Shots are All Black

  1. Default Screen Shots are All Black

    Hey everyone,

For some reason when I take screen shots in full screen mode the pictures are all black. When I switch to windowed mode they are fine. I've tried it with and without screen shot programs but the result is the same. I've updated my video drivers to the newest versions and played with different display settings in FS9 to no avail. Has anyone experienced this or have any idea how to solve it?

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Corey

how are making the screenies, which video card are you using?

BTW when you use windowed mode you are running in software mode wheas with full screen you are using 3D acceleration which sometimes has different screenshot requirements.

I have a Ti4200 64mb, latest video drivers. I just press Print Screen on the keyboard. I tried using a screenshot utility (fsscreen) with the same result. Something about running in full screen mode is causing it. I played with the anti-aliasing setting and a few others with no luck. I have no idea where or what features/settings would control or affect screen shots.

Don't know if this might be the problem, but it's worth asking.

Does fsscrean have settings in it like Grabber2K does, where you can set it to capture either a window or the full screen? If that is set wrong, it might be causing a problem. Just a guess on my part though 'cos I've never used fsscreen.

strange one this, i have a ti4600 and take shots using printscreen when in full screen mode no problem. not sure if it is connected but when i try and use quincux AA my full screen picture is just a black picture. perhaps if you try different AA settings it may help?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've already played with the AA settings with no luck. I'll keep messing with them and see if I find a combination that works.

I don't have FsScreen open in front of me but I don't think it has hardly any configuration settings. Anyway, it happens even when I just use the print screen button with no screen shot programs. I'll keep playing with it. If I do find a solution I'll post it back here to help anyone else out in the future.

    Thanks!
