Thread: Help develop team and be entitled to get a free copy of our next software update

  1. Default Help develop team and be entitled to get a free copy of our next software update

    Hello everyone,

We posted the question previously but didn't get any response back. Maybe a litte award helps.

If you can help us to solve the following problem you are entitled to get a free copy of your next Airliners Env product.(http://secure.simmarket.com/product_...roducts_id=561)

We have a problem we deal with for a long time:

Lessons and adventures can be controled with CTRL+] AND CTRL+[ if you use the english version of flight simulator and an american keyboard.

But with other contries the control key is differently located. As much as we could find out so far:

    For German keyboards use : " STRG + ß " and " STRG + ´ "
    For Denmark keyboards use " Ctrl + ` " and " Ctrl + å "
    For French keyboard use: "Ctrl + ]" and "Ctrl + ¨ "
    For Mexican keyboard use: "Ctrl + i" and "Ctrl + ´ "
    For Portuguese keyboard use: "Ctrl + '" and "Ctrl + « "

There is also a file in flight sim that comes with the program for some of there implemented lessons:
Open the file Flight simulator 9/messages/comm./lesson 1.msg in any
    text editor.
    1. Look for the line starting "s4" behind the equal sign there is a
description to press a button combination this is equal to CTRL+].
    2. Look for the line staring with "s91". Behind the equal sign there
is a description to press a button combination this is equal to CTRL+[.

But it seems the progamming team from microsoft flight sim didn't spend any effort to ranslate this file.

If there is anyone out there who knows how I can determ those keys for other coutries I would be very happy.

Also if you just can add any other country to this list we would appreciate a lot.

For testing these keys you can download our shwareware program.

Thank you very much in advance.

Just a guess. I'm not a dev, but I think that the "signal" from the keyboard to FS would be the same regardless of the country, and it just becomes an issue of the layout for any particular KB. (ie: if I push 'a' on my KB, it might send the comp. the signal "142" whereas the signal "142" may be the 'Q' key on another language KB) IF this is the case, I'm sure there is a website somewhere that would have equivalency charts.

*I could be way off base with this, just an amateur guess :)*

I tested that already out but is seems just to apply to few little languages like Denmark where the key ] is replaced by å.

Howerv using a key code trigger like ( ASCII Mini-Scope 1.0 from http://www.download.com/ASCII-Mini-S...ml?tag=lst-0-3) it shows me the ascii code number is 27 and 29.

I switched the keyboard to other languages but the key is still the same. In a concrete case someone from greece has the english version of flight sim, has on his keyboard even the "[" and "]" but can not access the lesson control.
