    Default Screen shot utility...

Hey I currently use FSScreen but am looking for something better. I tried searching the libraries here an at avsim but did not find freeware programs. If anyone could point out some good free screen shot utilities that would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Search for "ScreenShooter.exe". It's much better than FSScreen.

Well I don't know what FSScreen was like but I've been using YAFSScreen for a long while and I like it alot

The features I like are that you can choose a destination folder (I make a new one for each flight I want to take screenshots for) and select the file type (I select JPG and the compression slider at full quality to save filesize compared to bmp file choice ... I open the best ones later in graphics software to work with and resave them with a visual jpg compression ability).

You can save them so they are made at certain sizes or compression valuse or file types ....... I find the program very fgood for a screenshot app.

Just run it while fs2004 is going and keep hitting PRT SCR button to save pics ..... then later open the folder and weed out the good ones if you like ... it's just like photography ... there's only so many good ones on a roll ;)

Although I haven't used irfanview much , I don't see a way to take numerous screenshots by just hitting the PRT SCR button without pausing fs2004 and pasting and interupting the flight. Can you explain how this is done ?

Otherwise, it is not better than either of them as purely a screen-capture utility (I'm not talkign about editing or post-capture ability).

Try the Screen Hunter 4.0 (free).
It puts a jpg into the folder of your choice just by hitting "F6".

I use Grabber2K. Does everything the above ones do, plus you can set it to automatically take a screen capture at a time interval of your choice. No need to push any keys...let's you fly the aircraft. Then simply weed out the ones you don't want to keep later. Free download. Search GOOGLE for it.

Just to add to the variety of choice, I use "Rapidshot" which allows you to specify the location of saved screenshots, their quality and all just by pressing "PrintScreen".

I seem to recall it was Shareware but cost very little and yet it's very high quality and extremely easy to use.

Unfortunately, there's no web-site address in their Help screens otherwise I'd quote it for you. Try doing a search on FlightSim.com or Avsim.com.
