What is the source of the METAR in SB? If I use FS d'loaded weather will the SB metar reflect that weather or will the sources be different?

I think that VATSIM uses this information: http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/metar.shtml But on their site http://vatsim.net/data/search_metar.php they just don't upgrade it as often as the "National Weather Service" does.
Where FS (Jeppesen) gets the information from I don't know but while flying online via the VATSIM network you don't use the FS download function either. SB gets the VATSIM weather and sends it to your simulator while flying (provided you did not disable it in SB).
Hi Michael, I recently discovered disabling SB weather and using FS downloaded weather (with 15 minute updates enabled). The weather looks better and you will get rain, unlike with SB.
I'm just wondering if using acars in SB will still give me the info I would get with SB weather or is it giving me the info for the weather I have actually uploaded.
So far, it's been very close.

It would of course be more realistic that way also I get rain or snow with SB/VATSIM weather too.

If you fly online via the VATSIM network the SB ACARS will show you the METAR of the weather conditions provided by VATSIM not the conditions you downloaded from other sources. One of the reasons is the fact that the online controllers just cannot know what weather conditions every single pilot has; they have to give their traffic instructions concerning the "official" VATSIM weather which is valid for all participants.
