Just flew into Saskatoon today from Tulsa in one of the Concordes.. Nice flight, not much traffic up that way, at least not on FS9.. Left right away for Edmonton. Enjoyed my visit!! Kicker

Hey guys,

Well, the nearest airport to where I live is basically RAAF Base Richmond (YSRI); it's pretty quiet in FS2004 because there's never any traffic there-the nearest GA airport to where I live would probably have to be Bankstown (YSBK) because Hoxton Park Airport is now closed and Camden (YSCN) is 36.5 km from my place compared to 30 km for Bankstown. Bankstown's a nice little airport by the way...

I have two, and here is why. The closest to me physically is KIWI Wiscasset Municipal Airport. I have flown out of here in r/l and a good many of my FS9 flights start here too. My second is 08B Merrymeeting Field. This is where is did my flight training in r/l and where most of my actual flying has taken place. 1928 ft dirt runway, with 50ft obstacle on each end. If you can fly out of here, you can fly almost anywhere.

CYWG here. We have just built a new airport. What I don't like is that if you are not flying but just dropping off, there is no place to watch aircraft. I just go to Stella's for a sandwich. CYHZ has an interesting place to watch aircraft in the airport. This could be a subject of a new thread.

Try Compton Abbas Airfield, United Kingdom, EGHA, 810 AMSL, 08-26, 2635ft, with some challenging takeoffs and approaches due to windshear, but breathtaking views. Check the Abbas Air webcams, brilliant !!!, or grab some decent airport scenery and give it a go,

I realize this is a very old thread, but it seems to be a popular one nonetheless. My home commercial airport is KCLT (Charlotte-Douglas International Airport), my childhood GA airport was 8A6 (Wilgrove Airpark) and today it is 28A (Goose Creek / Pressley Aviation Airport).

Closest: KOAK Oakland, CA Two airports in one.

Favorite (scenery wise): LOWI-- Innsbruck, Austria. It was the default airport in the X-Plane 9 demo that first got me into flight simming, and I fell in love with the scenery. Now I go back to that same location in FS9.

Favorite (for plane testing): KEDW (Edwards AFB), KVBG (Vandenberg AFB). Nice long runways to do my stuff!
