    Default Irish Crash

Hi to all FS9 is crashing after I load a flight plan or if I try to use the GPS or the map.I am getting the following details ; App Name fs9exe. AppVer9.0.0.30612, Modname :terrain. dll, or facilities.dll. Offset 0000c89c. Hope this means someting to some of you as I am not that tech minded! . I have spent the last day tring various aircraft, plans, flights and areas to see if it is any one pacific thing but I can't figure it out. On occasion I can be 10/20mins into a flight, try the map or GPS then ...............ping !! CTD.Hope some of you kind people can help as I am now grounded. Thank you.

    After some more work.....

I have narrowed it down to Ireland, every time that i start or enter Irish "airspace" if you follw what I mean Fs9 crashes with DLL ntdll, panels, terrain, facilities errors.
I have had all the Irsh apts from IFDesign so disabled these together with my most recent scenery addons but the problem still continues. The only major work I have done recently was to add all the PAI packages but I can't see this being a problem.
Just took a short hop in the default 737 from Liverpool UK to EIDW and 30 miles from the aipport I clicked the map/GPS and crash. Any help would be most welcome.
    regards to all

I had a similar problem for each time I flew near to Manchester/Carlisle and also the Kent area. Very perplexing to say the least. With my system, I went through all of the AF2 files (AFCAD files) in the add-on scenery folder and manually checked each one for those areas. I then saved each one again, just to re-write them to HDD, and it seemed to cure the problem. I did notice when doing this, that some airports appeared 'corrupted', ie. the surfacing in the airport was 'broken'. My impression is that MSFS doesn't seem to be able to handle too well, large quantities of AF2 files when addded in one go. Any opinions out there???

Early AFCAD2 files are known to cause exactly this behaviour. Simply pick out the ones associated with Irland, changing the ending to bgx or somthing other than bgl and see which one is causing the prob. If after doing this the problem suddenly disappears you have found the culprit. It is time consuming as it involves constant restarting of the sim but it's the only way I know to get rid of this problem.
