Thread: Aircraft Idle taxi

  1. Default Aircraft Idle taxi

I hope someone can help me out with this. There is a way to make an aircraft start to taxi (put into motion) by just barely moving the thrust levers forward instead of moving them halfway up and then back down again. There are some aircraft I have used before that did this but I don't know how it was done. If anyone knows what needs to be changed, please let me know.

    Thanks,

P.S. I was told that it might be something in the "air file" but not sure what...maybe? maybe not?

Turboprop or not? You can do one of three, or all three of these changes in the aircraft.cfg. Edit with Notepad.

    1. Change the beta_min=nn to a higher number toward 15. (This adds a little more low-end prop "bite" as the minimum.

    2. Use the prop pitch lever to add "bite" manually after increasing RPM to ground range.

    3. Decrease the "low_speed_theory_limit=80.000" to 60 (or less).

All of these have implications or tradeoffs but they will do what you ask.

Thanks for the information but unfortunately all my aircraft are jets. I guess I should have clarified that in my post. I appreciate your help :-)
