Thread: Forgotten Liveries...

  1. Default Forgotten Liveries...

After a careful search of the library I find that there are no repaints of Eric Cantu's 737-200 in the old Southwest scheme, or in the old America West scheme. There are lots of photos of these paint jobs on airliners.net. If any enterprising painter wants to give it a go, you would be filling a void in the library...

A beautiful Canyon Blue SWA was done as soon as the first FFX 200 came out last year, and I thought to myself, "oh no, the desert scheme is going to be overlooked", and sadly it has been. Although the blue one looks great, in reality only one or two of the real jets were repainted blue.

Yes, it really is too bad that no one has done the old desert scheme. I liked the old SW and AW schemes much better than the new. The new AW scheme makes me think of restaurant chain decor...

Was never a fan of Southwest's brown scheme... That is until the puke blue one hit the skies... But that's just MHO.

I like both schemes of Southwest. It fits right in with the colors of the southwest. As a pilot it makes them very easy to spot in the air. What is disgusting is the U.S. Airways scheme. Not only does it lack imagination it is also a bear to see a grey and black airplane up against the clouds. It's hard to spot the 737s that fly into KALB with that scheme. The Beech 1900s are impossible.

No arguments from me, though I did like the 3 Reds scheme that US Air got from Allegheny. Was that ever on the 200?

That would be great! Any chance, do you think, that he might do the old America West as well?

Well, I have a paint which I downloaded of the old scheme. It's for the old version and needs the mipmaps removed to work with the new one (I think). Don't remember the author I'm afraid.

Do you happen to remember where you got it? The only old scheme SW 737 that I've seen is for the 300...

    Thanks,
