Fed up of shifting winds and useless "real" weather, am looking for a substitute. ActiveSky looks interesting - anyone got any feedback on whether it is worth EUR30?
Thanks

I have the ActiveSky 2004 version. With the latest update, it is as good as any weather generation program I have seen, and much better than the default "real weather". At the default settings, the cloud formation buid-ups look really good. Unfortunately, I had to scale back on some features, like enhanced overcast, to get acceptable frame rates. Between FS9, FSUIPC, and ActiveSky 2004, there are an unbelivable array of variables to play with, so with a little experimentation, you can probably get a combination that suits your system. I have been extremely pleased with ActiveSky Support. I Sent them my settings and they immeciately came back with specific suggestions which really helped. The latest update seems to have solved the problem of extreme wind shifts at altitude. I think it is as good as FS9 is capable of.

Thanks everyone for your comments - I'm just surprised that it has not had a lot more exposure. Still, EUR30 isn't a fortune, so I think I'll give it a try.......:)
