Announcement: Aircraft Carrier Operation Package

This is to inform you that I have just uploaded this freeware package to the library.

This freeware archive contains a set of gauges, effects and sounds which you can add to existing military aircraft in FS2004, and enables you to perform takeoff and approach/landing on aircraft carriers.
It features:
(1): A catapult gauge, enabling a catapult-launch takeoff.
(2): An arrester gauge, enabling a cable trap landing.
(3): A "meatball" HUD gauge, enabling accurate ILS approaches.
(4): A SonicBoom effect and controller gauge.
All gauges/effects with appropriate sounds.
Includes extensive installation/usage documentation, with examples
for several very popular aircraft.

GREAT package! This is much easier to use than ARRCAB once the cfg.s are edited(cheaper too ) and dont have to get a bunch of mediocre planes with it! My only comment is that you might want to include a window to add to teh .cfg that has both the cat and hook gauges side by side in a little sub window.

I decided not to promote that, although it's of course very easy to add.
Reason: people might forget to open the window if they lower the tailhook with a keystroke instead of the switch. Which means that the Arrester gauge isn't loaded and therefore doesn't work.
Besides, the gauges can be made very small, and you can always find a suitable spot on the panel for it. Moreover, the Arrestor gauge doesn't even need to be visible on the panel if you use the _vc definition of the gauge (but then you can't use the switch of course to lower the tailhook).

This is a fantastic package, however, for some reason I can not get the catapult switch to move...

this is the switch titled "ACT"...

any ideas?

You have to ARM the catapult first before you can ACTivate it..

forgive my ignorance...

can't figure out how to arm the catapult...

ok, just took a look at the pic and it shows an ACT and an ARM switch...when i press the ACT button it activates my tailhook...this is what is confusing to me as i don't want the tailhook down prior to catapult...
