ILS approach?

when i create a flight, i cant seem to fly an ILS approach. My indicator does not come on to line me up with the runway. Do I have to set the toggle switch to gps or nav? It works ok on the training flights but thats all. Any help is appreciated.

Not on gps. Be sure it is on approach.

Also make sure that your are not coming in too high. Try to catch the signal at 2000-3000 feet. You also need to catch it from a 30 degrees angle or less.

When practicing, try to follow ATC instructions regarding the intercept heading and altitude for the relevant ILS, and yes the switch has to be on NAV not GPS, also the ILS freq,has to be set on nav1 radio. After capture, if doing an A/P approach, turn approach switch on.
