There is a way to put the map in a separate window (like the GPS) and not having the flight get paused???
Thank you in advance!!!!

I don't know the answer but i hope we get one cause your right. I hate that, when you check an ils freq your flight pauses.

I kind of agree. I think that you can get the Nav data from the GPS but it's a pain to try to figure that system out completely. It's not that practical to learn. What I've been trying to do is to write the important info down on a scratch pad before the flight all in one visit to the MAP. ALternatively, you can set up a flight plan and print it out.

An alternative is to purchase FSNAV. Using this software, you can switch to the map and the simulator will keep running. Right click on the approach end of the runway of the destination airport, and it will give you ILS frequency, heading field elevation, etc. About the only thing I use the MAP for is to position the tower where I want it.

If you have fsnav you don't even need to do that. fsnav will do that for you, or at least it could in fs2002.
I always write down the frequencies before I need them, or at least get them well in advance of the airport approach. If you give yourself enough time then the cumbersomeness of the gps isn't too much of a problem.

You are correct about fs2002, but you cannot repositon the tower, using FSNAV, in fs2004. This is a feature I hope they can add in the future, as it was very handy compared to the MAP method.
Still, I find I use FSNAV on all my flights and for all my flight planning, it's one of the best payware programs I've run across.
