    Default Saitec X45

I have just purchased the X45 Joystick and Throttle.

However I want to use all the features. For instance I would like to use the POV3 switch on the throttle as the POV, however the Siatec utility does not offer that feature.

Also how do you assign the rotary controls.

    Thanks
    Terry

    Terry,

The profile editor for the X45 is quite involved. I obtained a great FS9 profile from one of the tech gurus, Greg Garsky, at Livewire Virtual Airlines (The Best VA out there!). It's a great profile. In the readme file Greg provides with the profile he suggests NOT using the profile editor to set the rotaries, but rather the axis controls in FS9 itself. I hope I'm making sense, I'm a bit new to the stick myself. Anyway, you may have to consider joining Livewire to get the profile. You won't regret it. Great VA!

    Hi Terry,

I had some difficulties setting up my Saitek X45 initially but did some research on the Official Saitek Forum at:

    http://www.saitekforum.com/index.php?s=

I decided to program the X45 from within FS9 because I didn't think I needed all the options the SST software makes possible. By using the controls/assignments menu in the sim, I believe you can assign the #3 hat to pan views as you wanted.

Re: the rotaries, I couldn't figure out why FS9 would recognize their assignment under AXES but they still wouldn't work - until I read a tip from the a/m forum. It seems that while the sim recognizes the rotary controls alright, it sets the sensitivity to zero by default. The answer is to assign the controls under AXES (say, for prop pitch and mixture), then go to the SENSITIVITY menu and set both at high sensitivity.

    Hope this helps,
