Thread: fs 2006 + ts 2006 merging...

Wouldnt it be great if some time in the future that microsoft merged
fs and ts together into one package! imagine flying over N.Y and seeing trains moving below. this would cut out a lot of work for the fs team as they could use the same models for both the sims. it would enrich the realism no end. and if microsoft made a shipping simulator then land sea and air would be populated! ferrying cargo and people around would never be so much fun!

Well personally I would rather just see random trains and car traffic and wouldn't care if the routes were realistic or not or controlled by someone. ALso seeing people and vehicle (and cargo movement) at airports would be much better IMHO

I personally don't think the combination would mesh well (I mean when do trains and planes interact)

However allowing an airport management sim to work in muliplayer online with planes flown by flight sim pilots could allow interaction (although I wouldn't want to see the two sims combined in any way as I wouldn't want the airport management thing for me).

Anyway , just my thoughts. Not saying the idea is wrong in absolute terms, just for what I feel.

I'd rather see MS put more resources into improving the sim rather then add silly things like moving trains.

I think it would be better for them to merge Links with FS. So I can be buzzed by aircraft while trying to sink putts. Just kidding.

That'd make online flying/training interesting - you could really p--- off the train buffs.

How about Grand Theft Auto and Flight Sim, that would be something. Ofcourse there will always be one idiot on Vatsim standing at the end of the runaway with a S.A.M.

All I can say is remember how Destroyer Command was supposed to be Multiplayer with Silent Hunter II. U-Boats & Destroyers battling each other over the internet.
