Uninstall FS and then install afresh. The uninstall only wipes the default FS installation, all your addons will still be there.Hope this helps.

There are a number of (cheap / free) programs available which can recover deleted files from your HDD. However, if you've installed anything over the top of them or defragged, you may be out of luck.

When you delete a file, Windows just tags it as <IGNORE THIS FILE> and carries on regardless. If no fresh data has overwritten it then it will still be there.

Sounds like an uninstall of FS9 is the next logical step here - fear not most of us have had to do this at some stage - there's plenty written about it but as mentioned in here you will not lose anything from your valued aircraft, default textures and add-on scenery. The one thing to be careful with is IF you have additional or changed liveries for the DEFAULT MS aircraft then you should make copies of the aircraft configuration files so you can pop them back in the respective aircraft folders after reinstallation, same would apply to any additional panels you may have aliased for the DEFAULT aircraft only.

You will have to re enter all your own personal preference settings for the likes of display, weather etc. etc.

It really ain't all that bad.

Do this for me will you...
press the Start button, then click on Run...
In the box type 'CMD' (without the quotes) and press enter.
In the command window that pops up type..
cd c:\program files\microsoft games\flight simulator 9 (assuming that you are using the default path for your FS - amend the path if necessary to reflect what you are using)
The prompt should change to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9>
    Then type ...
    dir /s >> fsdir.txt
That will produce a text file of your fs9 directory and file structure.
Attach it to an e-mail and send it to me and I can have a look at your file structure to see what, if anything has gone astray.
Make the e-mail subject 'FSDIR' so I can set my filter to accept it.

Fingers crossed that it's nothing to do with a faulty video card mate! - hope all the work pays off for you!
