Awesome! Thanks for the link.
Each turbine costs about $3,000 U.S., btw.
Enjoyed the video!
I've always liked R/C turbines & 4- cycles....
2-cycles & ducted fans will do in a pinch

That is cool!! Thanks for the link!

Larry,
Do you have a link describing those RC engines??? That was new to me.

I don't have a link. A friend of mine who just moved 500 miles away has been involved in composite R/C jet kit design & production for many years. Thanks to him, I've been around much of the turbine designs over the last 15 years. His jet engines will do a full startup from the transmitter with brakes locked. In the old days, it was initial startup air from something like a leaf blower.
I havn't flown much R/C for about 10 years, but still have several aircraft, radios, & engines ------- mostly four-cycle. The four cycles just sound better, especially when the prop just hits supersonic during Reno style racing. However, some of my quarter scales had large 2-cycles, as well as the helicopters. I "blew" a lot of money on that hobby, but then my full scale (un-done, but near done) RV6A is worse! :)

Thanks Larry
Speaking of RC, I think something this big is a bit extreme--why not just put a seat and stick in it and fly it):

Here is the main site with more pictures: http://www.fly-giantrc.org/
Here's the turbine site, but you have to speak German.
