What? And miss all the 'background' info and tips from all the 'GURUs' (heehee). Very interesting-but (some of it is) stupid!

But, of course I had to try them all. Ha. I now have a PC that I can't control, it's so independent and thinks it knows everything now that it won't run FS9. Too good for that. It only want to run FSX!!! (Kidding of course-ha!). But, I regress.

Tawni, that is a brilliant idea. Might have merits. I will try that tonight. One has to learn to live with slight glitches in the sims. Nothing is perfect. But, you know how 'THEY' are..

I use something simular to allow the sound to feed thru with full volume when in tower view for shooting my Fraps recordings. I too drag it down to 1/4x1/4 inch and put it up top. So, I use it like a 'tool'. When I click on it the sound will come thru full volume, if you know what I mean, irregardless of view. Cheers.

    Hi, Chuck~

Hope it works for you, too! I have found that sometimes there is still just a quick flash very close to the left/right wing view lower window sill but it happens in just a fraction of a second, so it's not very annoying; much better than that checkerboard of white rectangles I was getting before.

I also notice that the rectangle problem is more prevalent in certain areas than others. The area that was driving me batty was near San Luis Obispo, CA enroute to Monterey, CA. Other areas it happens seldom enough as to be a non-issue.

    Hi, Jim~

    I know, I know...

But, my rationale in this case is all about resolution. How many topics have you seen where, after lengthy discussion, no solution for the problem presented is ever posted?

The ranks of fs9 newcomers must be infinitely small at this point, so I would believe just about everything in the fs9 forum is old news, regardless of when the thread was started. Rehashing old news in a new thread didn't seem any more beneficial than resurrecting the dead. By using this old thread, someone searching this problem (an almost infintessimal likelyhood) might like to see what's been tried and hasn't worked as well as, hopefully, an ultimate solution.

BTW, I just purchased AS6.5. A very nice program! My first flight from Palm Springs, CA to Monterey, CA weather enroute was reported and started VFR. By the time I got to Santa Barbara, however, the ceiling had pushed me down to 2500 feet (from my initial cruise of 8.5). I obtained a popup IFR clearance to MRY and not a moment too soon. In another five miles, I was in solid IMC. I reached VFR on top at 10.0 and completed the flight. It was a sublime experience. Thanks for a wonderful product. As I did a lot of flying along the California coast in exactly that kind of weather, it sure brought back some fond memories for me.
