Another boring video card question

I need to upgrade my video card and can spend up to $200.00. I want to go with Nvidia because the Radeon 9600 PRO had given me problems.{kept causing my mouse pointer to freeze even after downloading the latest drivers} I was leaning towards a FX5200 or 5600 but Toms Hardware didn't give them a very good review. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

Dell 4100
512 SDRAM
CPU 1.0 gig
Nvidia GEforce 2 MX
Windows ME

My advice? - Try another 9600 Pro. The mouse problem shouldn't be there. It has to be fixable. Besides, there is no way you'll be happy with either of those cards after using the 9600. The reason Tom's (and other sites) gives the 5200 and 5600 poor reviews is because they aren't very good cards compared to other choices.

I just installed my new 9600pro today. All I can say is WOW! This card was a breeze to install and setup. No stutters at all in FS9 now. And this is with most settings set high. Frame rates stayed around 19 (locked at 20) My old card was a Geforce 3 that worked well but I did have stutters at times. I think the 9600 card that you got was a ##### one. Do yourself a favor and try another 9600Pro. I'm really glad I bought mine.

I just installed a new Powercolor 9600 pro, and with the Catalyst 3.9 drivers its great. No stutter at all, just an occasional slight moire pattern over water. High 20's fps at 12x1 resolution, most sliders at about 75% or so.
